“Amour et Michigas
“Amour et Michigas”
premiered in Paris in spring of 2024.
Rich in historical anecdotes, little known facts, tender and fun,
“Amour et Michigas”
sold out every single performance ever since.
Stringing together the great hits of Yiddish operette, as well as
some unjustly forgotten jems, Yiddish poetry and tapdance, standup
and klezmer,
“Amour et Michigas”
was enthusiastically received by
the audiences, both Jewish and non-Jewish alike.
Love is the greatest mystery in the world. Why does it happen, and how long does it last? No one knows. But one thing is certain: when it comes, it is always wonderful. And when it is mutual, it is simply incredible. But when love goes away, it always leaves alone.
You can hold hands, you can look into each other’s eyes, you can dream and breathe in the intoxicating scent of the other. You can know that, at last, you are no longer alone thanks to your beloved, and that they are no longer alone thanks to you. You are together because the same love has come to both of you. But love is a solitary beast, and when it leaves, it always leaves alone.
